Personal Credit Union (PCU)

Q. What does PCU cost?
A. It's free!
 
Q. What do I need to access PCU?
A. You need a computer with Internet access and the most recent version of Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator or America Online software. If an upgrade is needed, you can obtain it from the software vendor's website.
 
Q. How do I get access to PCU?
A. Applications for PCU are available at each service center, online, or by phone call. To begin service, we require the signature of the primary account holder listed on your AltaOne account.
 
Q. Do I need an e-mail address?
A. No, an e-mail address is not needed to use PCU; however, we recommend that each person signing up for PCU obtain an e-mail address to aid in communicating with AltaOne regarding our website. Your Internet service provider will be able to help if you need assistance.
Note: When needing to communicate account information, please contact our Call Center at 1-800-433-9727 option 4.  We will never ask for account information via the Internet and you are encouraged never to divulge this information using an e-mail address. If you choose to communicate via e-mail, at you only need to provide your complete name in order for us to easily identify your account. 

Q. How many transfers can I make with PCU?
A. There is no limit to the number of transfers from your checking account. However, federal regulations allow only six transfers each month via PCU, E.A.R.S. or overdraft for each of your various savings accounts.

Q. When do my transactions actually take effect?
A. PCU operates in "real time". That means your transactions will post immediately to your account. When transacting on an account that processes through a third party vendor please expect a slight delay as the vendor updates their records.
 
Q. Can I download my account into Quicken or MSN Money?
A. Yes, when using the most recent versions of Quicken or MSN Money, you can download all your account history from PCU. Your software will ask you for a User ID and password. Use your current PCU User ID and password. The User ID and password that you use to set up your financial management software must remain identical to your PCU User ID and password.
 
Q. Can I apply for a loan through PCU?
A. Yes, you can apply for loans offered at AltaOne (except real estate). After submitting your application online, you will receive an application number. You should write down this information and use it when contacting AltaOne regarding your application.
 
Q. How do I get a password for PCU?
A. When signing up for PCU, the Member Service Representative will give you a password. You will be prompted to change it before your first use of PCU.
 
Q. Can I change my password?
A. You can change your PCU password by logging into PCU and clicking on "Preferences."
 
Q. What happens if I forget my password?
A. You'll need to stop by a branch or call to have a new password assigned. As a security measure, PCU will allow only three invalid password attempts. To change your password at home you will need to set up security questions in PCU once your account is established. To do so, login to PCU and choose Preferences. From there choose the Password Reset function. You will be able to create a security question and answer of your choosing. Once you have done that if you lock yourself out of your account, please choose the "forgot your password" option on the PCU login page. Answer your security question and you will be able to reset your password.  
 
Q. What if I lose my connection to the Internet or my computer locks up while I'm doing a transaction in PCU?
A. If you have received the confirmation/transaction number, your transaction has been completed. If you lose connection prior to receiving this number, please reestablish your connection and verify that your transaction has been completed successfully.
